Scholarship Info Two $500 scholarships based around NRHH’s core values of leadership, recognition, and service will be awarded. These scholarships will serve to recognize the efforts of students to uphold the three NRHH pillars that seek to improve the experience for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s residents. Applicants will be invited to attend the RHA & NRHH End of the Year Awards Ceremony hosted on Sunday, April 28th in WCDC - Red Cloud. Each scholarship will be applied to the Fall 2024 semester. Requirements Must be a current resident in the residence halls for the academic year when applying. Must be a returning UNL student. Must be in good academic and conduct standing. Submit a completed application by April 15, 2024 at 11:59PM. Essay Requirements Please choose and answer ONE of the three scholarship essay prompts in the application below. We recommend writing 500 words, but there is no formal requirement. A higher consideration will be given to examples from applicant’s time as a UNL student. Essays responses are to be free of spelling, grammatical and formatting errors. In order to expedite the anonymous judging process, the applicant should refrain from writing their personal data (i.e. name, phone number, e-mail address, etc.) anywhere in their essay response. Why did you choose that cause and what impact did it have on others?Recognition– Essay should be based on a time in which you were able to recognize another individual for their accomplishments or impact on others while you were a student at UNL. Describe why recognition is important and the impact it has on the people being recognized from your experience. Why did you choose to recognize this individual? When does someone deserve recognition?Service – Essay should be based on a service opportunity that you played an important role in and that had a positive impact on others while attending UNL. Describe what benefit service brings to all parties involved and a service event in which you participated and believed in. What impact does this have and why was it meaningful to you?
