National Residence Hall Honorary

What is the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)?

The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is "the premiere honorary supported by the leading international organization advocating for the interests and welfare of residence hall students, while also providing opportunities for their personal growth and development." NRHH is a branch of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), Inc. which is one of the largest student-led organizations in North America. Both organizations are student-led and are dedicated to providing community building experiences, empowering students all across the world, and developing leaders for the future.

At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, we have the 'Scarlet & Cream Chapter of NRHH' which was founded in 1989. Ever since its creation, the chapter has continued to grow and find new ways to better the lives of not just the residents on campus, but also the UNL campus and the surrounding Lincoln community. For example, the chapter works annually with the St. Baldrick's Foundation to raise awareness and money for childhood cancer research and has volunteered throughout Lincoln at the Sunken Gardens, Center for People in Need, and People's City Mission. 

Just as other chapters across the nation do, the 'Scarlet & Cream Chapter of NRHH' is based on two essential values that serve as a foundation and guide for the organization. These values are service and recognition which NRHH works to weave into everything the organization does. NRHH dedicates countless hours annually to campus, local communities, and national organizations to support their missions and the individuals who utilize them. Also, NRHH recognizes individuals, organizations, programs, and so much more through monthly and annual awards that go from campus to regional and national levels.
